Because when you love yourself, you get to love others and all things bigger than you.

As I looked into his eyes tonight while he was trying to replicate my tooth brushing motions, a huge wave of love and gratitude just poured out of me right then and there.

His big eyes and little mouth open wide with so much curiosity and deep thought as he was going through the process.

The pause button got hit, time stood still, and as I witnessed this little person watching my every move, trying to impress me (yet again for the upteenth time today), I realised just how much of an effect we have on our children in all that we do.

Just like that every little detail in those eyes pierced right into my heart and soul and reminded me of why I continue to create, evolve, learn and stand up for what I believe in.

He is my why, my reason, the entire pulse to my brand, and the fire in my soul. Thanks to this star seed and the fact that he is continuously challenging me to bring my best self forward, I get to sink into deep awareness and truly glide into a life of consciousness, authenticity and constant evolution.

Just like that he cemented the vision I have of creating a movement that empowers others to move into a more conscious lifestyle with ease, to hold space for those still not sure on how to start and continue to create more organic personal care products that enable us to turn daily habits into self care rituals.

Because when we start to love ourselves more, that’s when we become more compassionate beings and start standing up for what we stand on. That’s when we get to collaborate, inspire and be inspired as a collective and truly make a difference on the planet.

Lets stare into space!

What would it take to simply close your eyes and be transported into space?

The place of infinite expansion that is free and unoccupied.

We often get caught out staring into space, living above and beyond our physical presence, but are we aware of that moment, or is it like the many things in life that we do and forget why and how?

With the fast paced way of the world in which we live, it’s so important to find small bite sized moments in each day. Moments that we can store away in our pockets and recall on at the end of each passing day that helped make our days seemingly more manageable, in flow and less cluttered.

Here are some simple yet effective ways to find yourself transported in space yet still physically present and mindful of your tasks at hand.

  1. Turn your daily habits into self care rituals - it’s in the simple things, like washing your hands at the sink, cleansing your face, lighting a candle or applying lotion to your skin. These moments are often done in a robotic state, unconscious and unaware of the impact those simple rituals can have on your mind and body. The next time you pump out your lotion and apply it to your body, tune in, be aware of the nurturing aspect and the time you’ve taken to nourish yourself.
  2. Breathe - another thing we often take for granted, that gentle soft movement that takes place within our diaphragm, yet the most important thing we could do. Find small moments throughout the day where you can close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths, set an intention to clear any thoughts, get clarity on projects and nourish your body and mind as you tune into each circulation.
  3. Stretch | Movement - we’ve been told time and time again about the benefits of a 30 minute workout, how much it raises our vibration, clears the head and maintains health and wellbeing. If your still struggling to find a few minutes throughout the day, simply stand up and swing your arms about, jump up and down on the spot and stretch. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how much it elevates your state.
  4. Choose to care - the more you give, the better you feel. Be a contribution for things greater than you, stand up for what you stand on and do it with confidence.
  5. Adopt a more natural life - one with awareness of the impact your choices have on your health, your home and the world around you.

Your thoughts are as clean as your space, so clear your space, declutter, fuel your body with clean food and good intentions.

Find out what we do over at B ^ R E movement over on our blog, and how you can be a part of the movement of turning daily habits into self care rituals with our natural | organic personal care products. www.baremovement.com

SKIN ABSORPTION

KNOW YOUR INGREDIENTS - PROTECT YOUR HEALTH

You’ve heard the saying, “You are what you eat”, well lets ramp that up a notch and suggest that “you are what you put on your body”? So if these sayings are true, what are you?

Many studies have proven that toxic chemical absorption (or to lighten the load here, ‘substances that effect your overall health’) don’t just travel through our guts in order to have a negative effect they are very quickly and easily absorbed through our skin. It’s safe to say that not ALL things absorb through the skin and not all chemical components either, however what tends to go overlooked isn’t the amount we use daily, it’s how often we use these ingredients in a lifetime and the potential risks they incur.

No matter who you are, it is likely that you use some form of personal care products daily. From the moment you roll out of bed, the routine begins: you brush your teeth with toothpaste; cleanse your skin with soap or shower gel; wash your face with face wash; cleanse your hair & scalp with shampoo and conditioner; use shaving cream and aftershave; apply body lotion, deodorant, perfume or cologne, sunscreen; and for those who love it, you can add makeup into the mix. Just in that, before we even leave the house we’ve used over 10 - 15 products that contain harmful ingredients, then we go off to school or work and wash our hands constantly with soap, reapply sunscreen every few hours and the routine continues.

According to Statista the total revenue of the cosmetic industry is over $62 billion dollars. “This statistic depicts the total revenue of the cosmetic industry in the United States from 2002 to 2011 and provides a forecast until 2016. The revenue of the U.S. cosmetic industry is estimated to amount to about 62.46 billion U.S. dollars in 2016.” That makes it one of the largest and most profitable industries in the country, spending millions annually on marketing and advertising. What’s upsetting the most is that the FDA does not always investigate or test for the safety of personal care products before consumers buy them! Instead, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR), an industry-appointed and funded panel, reviews the safety of cosmetic ingredients. According to EWG, there are approximately 10,500 ingredients used in cosmetics in our country, and in over 30 years, the CIR has screened only 11 percent of those ingredients.

It is easy to see that what we use on our skin ends up inside our bodies. So it is important to pay close attention to the ingredients in our skin and hair care products. If the products you use contain harmful ingredients such as harsh, toxic chemicals, colors, and fragrances, those ingredients make their way into your body, your blood and lymphatic system. The majority of mainstream body care products contain a cocktail of carcinogenic chemicals, allergens, and irritants.

To eliminate a lot of toxic chemicals, preservatives, and fragrances that are harmful to our bodies,

  • choose certified organic and natural skin and hair care products.
  • read labels and become educated about what ingredients to avoid when selecting body care products. (Petroleum derivatives, preservatives, synthetic fragrances and dyes go by many names. A few examples of common ingredients to steer clear of are: parabens - triethanolamine - dmdm hydanation - propylene glycol- petrochemicals - dioxanesls - sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) - sodium laureth sulfate (SLES))

By selecting organic and natural products for yourself and your family, you are taking a big step toward a healthier lifestyle. At B ^ R E movement we pride ourselves in upholding good ethical and moral standards. Our products contain none of the above featured ingredients, are 95% vegan friendly (except for some of our mens grooming products which contain small amounts of bees wax. So the next time you brush your teeth, wash your face or hair, apply aftershave, perfume or lotion, think about the cocktail of ingredients in those products and start thinking of how you can make a difference.

Embracing the moments where you get to be still.

Hey you,

you know how you’ve always wanted to sit back and take a moment to observe…

remember how you craved that sense of resonance and calm…

I have a secret just for you.
I know how to get there…… It is possible, it’s real and you can access it at any time.

All you need to do is this…

  • embrace change - change is the one constant, nothing lasts forever, this too shall pass and once we learn to accept that, embrace that, then and only then will we begin to feel centered, whole and complete.
  • stop striving for perfection - perfection is perspective. Let it go and instead, start practicing gratitude, surround yourself with beautiful experiences, not things.
  • accept that as a woman you will move like the tides, one minute you will want to be busy, giving, active, full of energy and light and the next you will want to retreat, be calm, self nurturing, still. We are complex beings yet so so simple. We just need to tune into our needs, our intuition and move accordingly with the gentle nudge of our inner being.
  • notice your inner voice and listen to her, she knows you best. she is NOT your inner critic, she is your inner knowing and like the divine outside of you, the divine within will help navigate you to exactly where you need to be.
  • keep your mind, body, soul and thoughts clean, choose a lifestyle that reflects the thoughts you want to embody. Choose a more B ^ R E life.

It’s ok to pull back like the tides at times, to say no to the things that don’t excite you, to just sit back, nurture and care for you and your sovereignty.
In fact, it’s in those times you truly give yourself and others the permission to be all you are.
It’s in those times you realise you don’t need anything or anyone to ignite the spark that makes you you.

Un hooking, detaching, releasing, whatever you wish to call it, (I call it accepting), is not the lonely road you once experienced. It is now the most enriching experience you could have ever asked for.

Peace & Light

When moving towards a more natural / organic lifestyle we usually begin with food, then household products and last we think of our hair, skin and body.
For me it all comes hand in hand.
You need to support your system from the inside out and outside in.
From my experience it was when I was on bed rest with my pregnancy 7 years ago that I realised I was feeling the best I had felt in years and through that awareness put it down to a HUGE reduction in chemical exposure from the salon and in particular using shampoo all day every day at the basin. (I was already eating super clean at this stage) That is when the seed was planted to create a range that was salon effective, something that would support all colour systems but most importantly support a more conscious lifestyle!
Why natural?
B ^ R E Your Best Self.

Being open and receptive to new ideas is often the difference between living and simply existing.

It’s when we sit in the space of knowing all we need to know and not allow space for more information or new ideas that we limit our full potential.

At B ^ R E movement we know how important it is to stay open to new ideas, this allows us to tune in and deliver more quality products to fit each individuals needs.

Our mission - to help each and every individual turn their every day habits into self care rituals so you can clear the space in your minds and in your lives for more goodness to come in.

It’s through constant growth and expansion that we get to tune into all the parts of life that bring us excitement. When we follow our highest excitement in life, nothing feels like a chore any longer, our work becomes that which is in alignment to our souls calling and just as Winston Churchill once said ‘To improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often’.

It’s not about perfection but simply imperfectly mastering our awareness and flow so that we can BARE our best selves in all areas in our lives.

So how do you stay open - Be committed to learning, to growth and new ideas.

Need more clarity in your life?

We tend to look externally all of the time, through books, health programs, yoga, clean eating and the list goes on………

Now all of these are amazing and we highly recommend,

but…..

What if all it took was to wash your hair with an intention, allow the quality essential oils to ride over your entire body and wash away all the messyness of the day and connect you to the focus and clarity you need.

You see when you have clarity you can move into your day with more ease. It makes work more meaningful, synergy more possible and focus sustainable.

You let go of all the thoughts that are purely just taking up valuable space and allow room for more ideas to come through.

Flow is the state in which we search for, and what better way than to BARE it all in the shower and let the water and your shampoo do all the work.

All you need to do, is set the intention to relax and take a little extra time nourishing yourself.

We rise and lift others only when we rise ourselves first.

When we start embracing all the parts of ourselves, that’s when we embrace others.

When we start to connect to self, that’s when we make real connections.

When we learn to stop and take a breath, that’s when we fully appreciate our natural ability to breathe.

When we turn our daily habits into moments of self care, that’s when this shift takes place.

In order to support, encourage and uplift others, we first need to do this for ourselves.

How do I reach this space I hear you ask?

Follow my 5 simple steps to connecting to self and in no time start seeing the relationships you have around you begin to flourish.

  • Turn your simple daily habits into moments of self care. These are our simplest habits, such as washing your hands, brushing your teeth and washing your hair. Before you step into each process inhale and recognise that this is your moment to stop, nurture your body and clean any mess from the day or night you just had. Embrace all the BARE parts of your being with acceptance and love.

  • Radical self responsibility. This is where you start to take accountability for your actions and responses to all situations.
  • Self reflection. Taking more moments to pause, stop, relax. Meditation is great and can be done in many ways, it can be a guided meditation which is available on many apps such as omvana, through movement and flow such as yoga, Qi gong or Tai Chi. Or simply sitting with a cup of tea with no interference, no phone or computer and pure space and time to sit with your thoughts then let them go.

  • Eat well. Listen to your body and eat as clean as possible. Stay clear of processed foods and increase your vegetable intake. (Seek advice from a nutritionist where possible)

  • Sleep well. With all the extensive research out there around sleep, some suggest that it’s not necessarily the amount of hours you get, but the quality of sleep your getting. Create a calming environment and routine before bed, light meditation can assist with an improved sleep along with self care rituals.

Remember how you do one thing is how you do everything, so take notice of how your doing your everyday chores right down to how you prepare your morning coffee. Then set some systems in place to help you connect more to your self and those around you.

I share this with the intention that it resonates with you and allows you to see that we all hold the power of living a life in alignment, on purpose and with love.

What’s beautiful about this is that ‘the wild possibility that is you and your impact’ is seen, heard and felt all the time, it’s particularly seen when you are in your truest nature, showing up and being the change you wish to see, when you are being your truest expression in ALL dimensions of life.

We often strive for perfection, the hustle, for success, riches, freedom, we strive with force without realizing that the simple awareness, the smallest decisions and showing up with full transparency IS you making an impact!

Because choosing a more natural lifestyle, a more conscious lifestyle IS beautiful. It’s not just a “hippie” thing (mind you I love the hippie thing) but it is for everyone! For the young, the evolved and the seeker!

Clear your mind | Cleanse your hair
